The city has made some changes and improvements (2013) to the memorial gardens at Bennett Park. I'll be watching (next several weeks) for the flowering trees to come to life! Also, I'm told, the new tree sculpture is the work of one of our DPW workers... very cool!

Historic 1845 Eaton County (MI) Courthouse on the banks of the Battle Creek River in Charlotte, Michigan. Photograph was taken on Christmas eve 2012. Processed similar to vintage photographs.
Updated (fall 2012) image of the historic 1885 Eaton County courthouse in downtown Charlotte, Michigan. Photograph was taken near dusk, resulting in unique, fleeting light, that accentuates the colors of the square ! I've taken dozens and dozens of photos of this building over the years... 2012 version is now my favorite.

Clock works in the tower of the 1885 Eaton County Courthouse, Charlotte, MI Image shows the central gear cluster that moves the hands on the four clock faces... only a handful of folks have seen how the "big clock" works. Now ya know! Simple, efficient and still ticking for over a century.
